Pellissippi State Sweeps the Series Against Motlow State
Pellissippi State Baseball put together an impressive series against Motlow State, winning all three games in dominant and dramatic fashion, including a doubleheader sweep on Saturday.
On Friday, Pellissippi came out on top in a high-scoring 13–9 battle, powered by a clutch performance from Caden Channell, who drove in four runs and sparked the offense at key moments. The game was back-and-forth the entire way, with both teams combining for 23 hits, but Pellissippi sealed the win with a huge six-run seventh inning to take control for good.
Saturday’s doubleheader told two very different stories. In the first game, Pellissippi relied on discipline and pitching to secure a 4–2 win. Despite not recording a hit, they capitalized on walks and errors to score all four runs, while Nathan Reed delivered a strong complete-game performance on the mound with eight strikeouts.
The second game showcased Pellissippi’s explosive offense once again in an 11–0 shutout. After building an early lead, they broke the game wide open with a seven-run sixth inning, highlighted by a three-run home run from Carson Hoffmeister. Strong pitching and aggressive base running helped complete the dominant finish.
Across all three games, Pellissippi combined timely hitting, patient at-bats, and solid defense to complete the sweep and carry strong momentum forward.
