Bio
Coach Van Horn brings more than 25 years of coaching experience to Pellissippi State, taking over as head men’s golf coach in 2025. He most recently led the women’s program at Newberry College, guiding the team to a tournament win and multiple top-five finishes. Before that, Van Horn helped build Georgia Military College into a national contender – winning the 2019 NJCAA Division III National Championship with the men’s team and starting the school’s first women’s golf program. His career includes stops at as head coach at Judson University, Oakton College, Waubonsee Community College, and Aurora Central Catholic High School.

In addition to his success in golf, Van Horn served more than 20 years as a Senior Medic with the Aurora Fire Department in Illinois before retiring in 2011. He holds degrees in engineering and business management, along with multiple technical certifications.

Off the course, he enjoys time with his wife, Glenda, and their three daughters: Amber, Leah, and Alison.
