Pellissippi State Men’s Soccer Takes Down Crown College 24-0
Knoxville, TN - The Panthers scored 24 goals in their win against Crown College on Tuesday afternoon which puts them in first place in Division 2 with 38 goals scored this season and 1st in points. Benjamin Schulz scored the first goal for Pellissippi in the 1st minute of the match, which set the tone for the rest of the day. Schulz ended up scoring 6 goals on the day, putting him tied for first place for goals scored this season in Divison 2 with 9, and now is the solo leader in Division 2 in points with 21.
After their close defeat at the hands of the #10 ranked Georgia Military College Bulldogs, the Panthers needed to make a statement and did so with this dominating victory. Pellissippi averaged a goal every 4 minutes in the win and didn't surrender a single goal. With a trio of goalkeepers playing in the game, and thanks to a tremendous effort by the defense, the Panthers only allowed 4 total shots, with two saves.
Pellissippi State is also 3rd in average goals/game, 4th in shots, 5th in assists, and is tied for 7th in corner kicks.
